If the playoffs started today

How the playoff picture looks today

In the AA Division the Piratas de Sinaloa are only 1 win away from clinching thier playoff spot and the #1 seed. Pacific Tires got a big boost with their 2 game win over the Naturals. They too are now only a game away from clinching a playoff spot. The Naturals drop down into a tie for the last playoff spot. The Naturals loss helped the Motorboaters and even the Diamonbacks a chance to get back into the playoff races.

In the A West Division Mirimire inched closer to clinching a playoff spot with their victory over the Colt 45's. Mirimire needs only one more win to clinch the division title.

In A East Division the Perros had another big win Sunday. The Perros defeated the Dawgs for the fifth straight win and now have full control over the division and a playoff spot. The good news for the rest of the division is that the wild card team will most likely come from this division. The Rangers and Colt 45's will battle the last 3 games to see who comes out in front.

The B West Division still has the Calif Angels and Rancheros tied. These two teams will face each other next week. That game will probabaly determine the division winner and a sure playoff spot. The loser will have to contend with a huge group of teams fighting for one of the two playoff spots left. The Magueyes and RC Dodgers are only one game behind and can tie the loser of the Angels/Rancheros game for a playoff berth.

In the B East Division the Division leading Tomahawks had trouble with the Peloteros. They ended up in a 2-2 tie. This can muddy the playoff picture. I will try to get this game in but I don't know if I will be able to. With the tie, this basically leaves the Tomahawks, Bean Boys, and Jurupa Expos in a tie. This would leave the Bandits and Cerveseros out of the playoff picture. The biggest question mark has to be the Peloteros. They have 3 tie games. If they were to win all 3, this would put them in a tie for 1st place.

Tie Games

Might need to play a game on Mothers day

We have had 7 tie games so far this season. We were able to get two out of the way Sunday via the game counts Unfortunately we added another tie game Sunday. I don't know why the Peloteros seem to keep tying games. We got rid of two of these tie games Sunday and I hope to get rid of two more Easter Sunday. Hopefully two other ties games will be resolved with again the games count as two later on in the schedule. The only game I have to figure out how to get it in is the Peloteros vs.Tomahawks. Technically the Peloteros still have playoff hopes alive but not without getting thru their 3 tie games. We could try to squeeze them in either Mothers Day or Memorial Day. I can tell you right now, Memorial Day is really going to be tough. This leaves me only Mothers Day. I would prefer not to play Mother's day but I really need to get this game in. Lets hope we don't get any more the rest of this season. If teams are not willing to play, the game will be deemed a forfeit.

Robert's Corner

Another great day and great games. We are getting closer and closer to the playoffs. Each game becomes a little more important. We are now down to the last 3 games of the season. The playoff races are starting to reveal the true contenders. In the AA division, the Piratas continue to dominate. Its hard to believe they won't finish the season as Champions. In the A division Mirimire and Perros are on a collision course to meet in the finals. These two teams have met twice. They have split the two games. In the B divisions we have 9 teams still in the playoff hunt. The tough part is that only 6 teams will make the playoffs. These last 3 games will determine who advances and who is left out.
One of the neighbors at Chaffey High school asked us if we could stop getting dressed in front of their homes. I guess some of you guys are getting down to your thong underwear and the neighbors would prefer if they didn't have to see this. I don't think this is asking too much. Please be aware of people around you when getting undress at Chaffey High School.

Illegal Bats

All -5 bats and up are illegal

As we navigate through the 2025 baseball season, it’s important for us to stay updated on the latest changes and regulations that impact our game. One significant update was the decision to ban all drop 5 bats. This decision has been followed by most leagues and almost all nearby leagues. For those unfamiliar, the term "drop" in bat specifications refers to the difference between the length and weight of the bat. A drop 5 bat, for example, is five ounces lighter than its length in inches. There are many brands of -5 bats and I have even seen -10 bats but all -5 and up bats regardless of the brand or model are now banned.
The problem is when big powerful players swing drop 5 bats, the resulting force can be hazardous putting pitchers and infielders are at a higher risk of injury due to the increased exit velocity of balls hit with -5 bats.
We were one of the last leagues to allow -5 bats. In the past we allowed only B division teams to use these bats because we felt the impact would be very minimal. The time has now come to ban -5 bats in our league. By banning drop 5 bats and up, we aim to reduce these risks and ensure a safer playing environment for everyone. Player safety will always been a top priority. We fully support and join other leagues decisions to ban drop 5 bats in play.
