What the heck .....

What a nice day we had Sunday. We finally had a weekend with no clouds or threat of rain. Just a nice spring day. I don't see any forcast for rain this week. I am really hoping we are done with the rain this season.
Saw a few games. I got to see some teams I haven't seen too much of. The Devil Rays do not look like they have solved some of their issues. The Spitfires look like they are for real. I saw the Colt 45's and they look like they are a playoff team but they are going to need to win some games down the stretch. In general I think these next few weeks will sort out alot of contenders from the pretenders. We have one more week of games then we will take a break for Mothers Day. Then of course we play another game then take another week for Memorial day. If things go as scheduled, we would also take a break before the Championship game for Fathers day.

Playoff Races

2 games left

In the AA division The Braves are only a game away from clinching a playoff spot. The Motorboaters are in a good position and need at least 1 more win to clinch. Now the last playoff spot is down to the RC Dodgers, Pacific Tires, and IE Tanks. The tie game of IE Tanks vs. RC Dodgers will help the IE Tanks but they are so far behind in the RD that it might not matter.

In the A division I think the Spitfires have clinched their playoff spot. I think the Tomahawks are pretty much in too. The last spot is being held by the Colt 45's. The Charros will need to win the last two games to even have a chance. This leaves the Pomona Bombers. The Bombers have a chance to catch the Colt 45's but will need to win their tie game and at least one of their last two games.

In the B West division we have basically 4 teams tied and 1 team only a game behind. This division will definitley will have some tie breakers involved. The Rancheros technically have a chance but they would have to win their tie games and at least one of their remaining 2 games to have a chance.

In the B East division Ithe Belltown Bombers are holding on to a slim 1 game lead but I think they have already clinched a playoff berth. I alwasy say I think because there are thousands of possibliites and you never know. The Rangers need to win at least one more game to be safe. The last spot will come down to the last two games but even more important will be the tie game the Cerveseros vs. Expos have. I think the winner of that game will have a very good chance to take the last playoff spot.

Breaking tie games

We all know we get tie games every season. Its always a big problem to get them resolved. We usually just try to replay the games or sometimes just leave them as byes if they do not affect our playoffs.
The big problem is that in order to play those tie games, the rest of the league has to shut down.
So I had an idea. What would happen if we would replay the tie games as if the game was going into extra innings. So the tie game would start like a regular game but instead of playing 2:45 mins, teams would play until a team scores. This would get allow us to "play" the tie games and still give us enough time to play the regular scheduled game.
